Chinese People's New Year's Wish:
The Return of the Hero and the Downfall of the Devil

11 February 2013

2013 will be the year to celebrate Chairman Mao's 120th birthday, and many Chinese believe no celebration is more meaningful than to return to a path directed to by the great man and purge the traitors who derail the great course. In Zhengding County, not far away from Beijing, a group of people lighted lanterns with their new year's wished handwritten on the paper cover: "送瘟神", meaning "See Off Devil Wen Jiabao". The lanterns then were released, along with their wishes, to the sky, which shall be an express way to spread message across the universe.
