Earlier this month, more than a thousand people gathered
at the birthplace of Sun Tzu (Sunzi), the author of The Art
of War, in Huimin of Shandong
Province to pay tribute to the greatest military strategist
in Chinese, probably world, history.
Some ancient Chinese were big
masters of Art of War, hence even though the Middle
Kingdom was surrounded by violent tribesmen with a blood-thirsty
wolf-worship culture, Chinese civilisation survived from
prehistoric era to this day while all other antiquated
civilisations faded with time. Some earlier
Chinese Communists were also big masters of Art of
War, hence even though the PRC was surrounded by the powerful
military forces from the West with a ruthless jungle law
culture, a peasant nation was able to steadily grow into
an industrialised country. In fact, Mao
Zedong, the founding father of CCP and PRC, was not
only the best inheritor of China's War Art tradition, but
the creator of the upgraded version of the Art of War.
Sadly, same cannot be said about the current Chinese leadership,
despite they love to give copies of Sun
Tzu's Art of War to Americans as if they own the copyright
of the masterpiece.
The essence of the traditional Chinese political-military
strategy is of managing state affairs honestly while dealing
with state enemies deviously. But the current Chinese political-military
reality is just opposite, i.e., managing state affairs deviously
and mercilessly while dealing with state enemies honestly,
A few days ago when Chinese government did virtually nothing
in response to Japanese cops' illegal landing of Chinese
territory in Diaoyu Islands, Chinese cops in Shenyang (辽宁省盘锦市兴隆台区), in
the former "Manchurian"
claimed by Japanese, performed a deadly act in response to
Chinese villagers defending their rice farmland against forced
demolition by property developers. We say deadly, because
it is deadly: one of the villagers was shot dead by cop.
What Chinese Say
About Chinese government's art of war:
对人民凶神恶煞 对外敌卑躬屈膝 老夫怎么恍惚是到了民国年间了呢?
