Chinese Anger over Government Persecution of Gu Kailai

20 August 2012

This is a banner at Sunday's massive anti-Japan rally in China: Bring the treacherous officials to justice. Apparently, most Chinese people know pretty well who is the No.1 treacherous official in China at the moment (although not the most dangerous one - that is premier-wanna-be Li Keqiang) as one responded to the post swiftly:

- Wen Jiabao must be quite pleased to learn that even when Chinese are preoccupied with fighting against Japanese, he still hasn't been forgotten.

Others also commented:

- This is the best way to save China (i.e. to charge Wen Jiabao for the crimes of high treason).

- This is the most powerful demand in the protest.

Below are what Chinese say about Gu Kailai's death sentence:

- Even you guys get Bo Xilai's entire family killed, people will still love them!

- Anyone with his hand stained with blood from Bo Xilai and his family will never be able to wash it clean.

- How many communists Chiang Kai-shek killed when he was in power? Had that saved his regime? Nope. Precisely because of this unlawful trial of Gu Kailai, Chinese people now see clearly who are their enemies.

- Such a treacherous administration, does anyone still think it deserves people's support?

- This verdict will be overturned for sure, because it is a fabricated charge.

Chinese netizens are determined to support Bo Xilai and his family to the end.

A big anti-Japan demonstration appeared on Sunday in Hong Kong, which also condemned the both current Chinese government and, especially, the local Taiwan administration for their cowardly responses to the foreign aggression.

RELATED:

Guangdong chief Wang Yang is one of the main henchmen in the Wen Jiabao (& Li Keqiang) -directed anti-Bo Xilai campaign, but most people under his rule have different opinions on the former Chongqing chief. In fact, they feel so disgusted over Wen Jiabao & Anhui Gang's (安徽帮) ruthless persecution of Bo Xilai and his family, that at Sunday's mass rally in protest against Japan unlawful presence in China's Diaoyu Islands, a large banner was raised with the message: The one appeared in the Hefei Hearing is not Gu Kailai but an imposter!

What Chinese Say

About the Bogus trial:

大陆来的 (washeng.net)

Yesterday I met some of my friends working at all sorts of different industries and businesses, some are within the state system, and everyone condemned Hu Jintao and Wen Jiabao for what they've done to Bo Xilai family and to the country.

Everybody hates Wen Jiabao to his guts. They may fancy they can close this chapter quickly, but they'll realise in no time that the drama has just unfolded.

昨天与好几个朋友一起,各行各业,体制内外,人人痛骂糊瘟.

没有谁不对糊瘟恨得牙痒痒的!走着瞧吧,这个政治事件不是行将结束,而是刚刚开始。

It reminds me of 1976.

It was also a dragon year with rumours spreading like wild fire. It was also a year when people were looking for a big change. The fall of Deng Xiaoping ignited people's anger which resulted the April 5 Incident.

36 years ago - that was also an Election Year in the US, of course by then Chinese didn't care much what happened in that remote country. But otherwise, everything is just like this year.

I remember during the April 5 Incident, a key figure was identified as "buzz cut guy" by the authority, and this time we have "Bogu Kailai".
