Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas Addresses the 66th United Nations General Assembly at UN Headquarters in New York

In February 2008, US President said the US supported Kosovo's independence because "we believe it will bring peace ... Sooner rather than later you've got to say enough's enough. Kosovo's independent."

There was "a disagreement but we believe as many other nations do that history will prove this to be the correct move", the president aserted.

Serbia earlier withdrew its envoy to Washington in protest. It said Kosovo's declaration of independence violated international law.

Kosovo was part of formal Yugoslavia federation with a population mere 2.5 million, of which 10% are Serbs. NATO has been allowed to stay in Kosovo and control the national security matter after independence.

The UN Security Council was at a time divided over how to respond to Kosovo's move.

In September 2011, U.S. President said the U.S. would veto any U.N. resolution recognizing an independent Palestinian State, because peace would not be achieved “through statements and resolutions at the U.N.”

“We will only succeed in that effort if we can encourage the parties to sit down together, to listen to each other and to understand each other’s hopes and fears. That is the project to which America is committed, and that is what the United Nations should be focused on in the weeks and months to come,” the president aserted.

Israel earlier threaten to oppose the president's re-election bid but welcomed the latest move. It said Israel's rule over Palestine is good not only for Jews but for Palestinians.

Palestine was never historically part of Jewish state, and it has a population about 3.8 million, of which 0% are Jews. It is believed that NATO will have no chance to stay in Palestine and control its security matter after independence.

The U.N. members are united in supporting Palestinian independence, except the United States.  

Further question: If a people lived in a land for a thousand years have no right to self-termination but can only be subjected to the rule of another group of people who left the land a thousand years ago and returned to reclaim the land rather recently, what is the right the British colonists should have to form a federation independent from native Indian's jurisdiction? For goodness sake, the White settlers never lived there before, not since homo sapiens' time, while the native Indians never left the land in 10,000 years since the Ice Age, should the land of the United States be returned to Indians and should the White and the Black migrants be placed under the rule of the indigenous Yellows?

True, BOTH "Arabs" & "Jews" have been living in that region since homo sapiens wandered out of Africa.

But the MAJORITY of the Israelis living in modern Israel today, or grandparents, CAME FROM EUROPE.

On the other hand, I doubt very much even 2% of the Palestinians living in the "disputed" lands came from Laos, Argentina, Lituania, Poland, or Germany.

He's right. Peace efforts failed for one reason only: Israel refused to stop it's illegal building of settlements on Palestinian land. We are dealing with an ultra right-wing govenment in Israel that makes any deal impossible. Abbas had no choice but to go to the UN.

Wikileaks Cable Suggests the US Bombed A Building to Destroy Evidence they Executed 10 Handcuffed Iraqi Civilians, Including A Woman, Children Under 5, And An Infant

The Center for Research on Globalization reports that Wikileaks has released cables that confirm the United States has been conducted targeted assassinations of Iraqi civilians.

Cable 59146 reveals one of the incidents of targeted assassinations in which the U.S. government tried to destroy evidence of the executions by bombing the building. The officials story was the building collapsed under heavy fire, but witnesses interviewed at the scene say 6 missiles fire by U.S. aircraft destroyed the building.

Unfortunately for the war criminals, autopsies of the bodies found in the building revealed at least 10 civilians found in the building were all handcuffed and shot in the head execution style before the building was bombed.

Even worse the victims including a woman in her 70's and 5 children under the age of 5, with the youngest being a 5 month infant.

The U.S. government then publicly covered up the executions by stating the deaths where the result of a building collapse that followed a search for ‘a foreign fighter facilitator for the Al Qaeda in Iraq network’ which the media reported without question.
