10
Be generous and fair towards those standing
before you; leave legacy that is positive and enduring to
those coming after you.
11
Where the path is narrow, leave some space
for others to pass; when the food is testy, offer your mates
a bite of the delicacy. This is a way to ensure long term
happiness and safety.
12
Be an honourable friend; keep a childlike heart.
13
Do not scramble for favour or profit; do not
lag behind when offering contribution; do not take more than
you deserve; do not let a day pass by without making progress
in personal cultivation.
14
When handling affairs, taking one step back
can bring forward progress; when dealing with relationships,
being generous to others will benefit yourself.
15
No matter how great achievement one has accomplished,
being self-conceit will cancel it out; no matter what horrendous
crime one has committed, sincere repentance can redeem the
karmic debt.
16
By sharing the glory of your success with others,
you can keep jealousy and hatred from distance; by sharing
the responsibility for mistakes made by others, you will
gain an opportunity to advance your self-cultivation progress.
17
Whatever you do, don't go extreme, or you'll
run into a wall of opposition. If you can't tolerate anything
that is less than perfect, your undertaking is deemed to
fail sooner or later either due to internal conflict or as
the result of external threat.
