孔子曰: 知之为知之,不知为不知,是知也。
Confucius: To take what you know for what you know, and what you do not know for what you do not know, that is knowledge.

Find Your Way

A local Tibetan tour guide shows a Westerner the right way to Jiuzhaigou Valley. Of course, you can explain things to people but you can't do the understanding for them.

老子曰: 道,可道,非常道
Lao Tzu: The way that can be defined by language is not the true way.

To the Valley

If in the end you still have no idea how to go to the valley, the men in green who know the way well are willing to carry you there on a bamboo chaise lounge, with a price, which is fair enough.

孔子曰: 君子爱财,取之有道。
Confucius: A man of dignity may like to make more money, but will only seek to achieve it by honourable means.

Welcome to My Shop

A shop owner with an ethnic Tibetan background takes a break in front of her store by the road to the valley.

孔子曰: 三人行,必有吾师焉。择其善者而从之,其不善者而改之。
Confucius: Of every three people, there is at least one who is good enough to be my teacher. I learn his strengths and learn to avoid his shortcomings.

Welcome to Our Stall

Three girls with an ethnic Qiang background mind their trading business by the roadside while observing keenly the passersby, smiling mysteriously at nobody or losing herself in a dream world on her own arms.
