These are paths that travelers tromp and tread since ancient times.

Modern Metropolis Next to Wild Nature

A short distance away from the secluded mountain retreat is a modern metropolitan Chengdu with 3,000 years of history.

The sound of reciting classics could be heard at night, the dark sky is brilliantly illuminated by the light.

High Culture Next to Forest Jungle

Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan Province, is one of two Chinese cities (another is Suzhou) that has never changed its location since it was first established thousands years ago. While it is a custodian of tradition, it is also home to fashion. Historically, it was the first to use the paper money called 交子 (Trading Currency) in the world, the first to establish a commercial bank called 交子务 (Trading Currency Office) on the planet, the first to open a public school called 文翁石室 (Governor Wong's Stone Studio) in human history, the birthplace of the renowned tea culture, the popular couplet culture and the time-honoured local chronicle culture. Today, it is the first in Asia to be named as City of Gastronomy by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization for its innovative food industry.
