Ever since the ancient times, there were a great number
of prophecies emerged in the land of China, among which The Image
of Back Massage (推背图) of Tang
Dynasty (618 - 907) and The Song of Sesame Pie (烧饼歌)
Dynasty (1368 - 1644), both articulated by emperors'
top consultants with a mystical affiliation to Daoism,
being the most revered oracle texts throughout history.
The Back Massage, which makes no reference
to spiral problems, and The Sesame Pie,
that devotes not a single line to Chinese
snacks, have offered snapshots of the key political
and social events taken place in China over a time span of
thousands of years.
From time to time, however, doubts were, and still are,
expressed, questioning the authenticity of the texts, partly
due to the incredible high accuracy of the predictions, and
partly because the metaphorical language they employed, which
would only allow a standard human mind to be enlightened
by the oracle message after the events.
Some say this is precisely the nature of prophecies and
all prophecies are meant to be used as review not preview.
That might be true, but that was only true before November
19, 2006. On that particular day at about
15 minutes to 11pm, a Chinese individual self-identified
as liwang3894 posted a short message on Chinese forum tianya.com,
titled My Bold Fancy about China’s Future (意淫一下中国的未来).
Although the title of the post is as unimpressive as ancient Massage and Sesame,
the content is a departure from the conventional oracle tradition.
It uses plain language and assigns a clear cut timeframe
when announcing the forecasts.
Of course, some may argue that since Mao
Zedong made his prediction of the global situation
early last century, the rule of prophecy pronunciation
has already been broken. But Mao was such a great figure
in history and he might be powerful enough to influence
the sequential events or the trend to a certain degree
Anyway, back to our humble liwang3894. Liwang3894 doesn't
seem to be a towering figure, not yet so far. But liwang3894
dared to be so bold, as well! Therefore immediately after
the post appeared online, the audacious prophet was bombarded
with rebuke and scorn by the viewers, especially from those
in the similar mind frame to Liu
Xiaobo, who harbours an irrepressible hatred for his
own people and holds a deep contempt towards his own culture
for some certain reasons thus cannot stand any outcomes other
than to see China to be colonised by the West and Chinese
people to be condemned under alien rules.
Nevertheless, three years later, the antagonists quietly
disappeared, while a large contingent of followers have appeared
to adulate the author as a modern prophet.
Here are some of the predictions by liwang3894 published
in 2006 and the events occurred afterwards, we present them
