August 8, 2009 is marked as China's first Fitness Day, occasioned with 33,996 people playing Taichi before the square of the major Olympic venue, Bird's Nest. The particular body sequence they played are called Yang-style with 24-movements only, lasted only about 6 minutes, which is the most popular Taichi style in today's China with a gentle and simple approach suitable for all age groups. Among the players on the square, the oldest is 65, while the youngest only 7.

One year on after the Olympics 2008, the Bird's Nest has become a new attraction of Beijing along with the Forbidden City, the Great Walls and the Summer Palace, with a total profit from tourism and sports events up to 300 million yuans.
